Ethiopia to host 70th FIFA Congress in 2020


The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) will hold its 70th Congress in Addis Ababa next year.

The FIFA Congress, the most critical meeting of the governing body of international football, used to assemble every two years.

According to the chief of staff of the Chairperson of the African Union, Ambassador Abdoulaye Diop the next congress will be held at the headquarters of the AU in Addis Ababa in May 2020.

Congress finished 69th in Paris, reelection, Gianni Infantino, as FIFA president, who would serve until 2023.

It was noted that in 2017 Ethiopia has also hosted the FIFA Congress in the capital, Addis Ababa.

Congress is expected to take decisions on the statutes governing FIFA and the method by which they are implemented and enforced.

Also approve the annual report, you decide on the acceptance of new national associations and holds elections, especially for the presidency of FIFA.
